Day 1: ARUSHA
Arrive Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA). Met by a CATS Africa representative for meet and greet and transferred to Lake Duluti Serena Hotel. Dinner on own account. Overnight at LAKE DULUTI SERENA HOTEL (Bed & Breakfast)
DAY 2: ARUSHA / NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA
Early this morning depart to Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area (NCCA), with a stop en-route at Olduvai Gorge. Olduvai is the famous archeological site where Leakey discovered remains of Australopithecus, Homo habilis and Homo erectus, bringing crucial understanding to the study of the evolution of the human species. Arrive for an early lunch at the lodge Later descend into the crater floor for half day of game viewing. Dinner and overnight NGORONGORO SERENA LODGE (Full Board)
DAY 3: NGORONGORO
After breakfast, descend into the ‘8th Wonder of the World’, a unique biosphere that has remained virtually unchanged since the dawn of time. Enclosed within its towering walls are grasslands, swamps, forests, saltpans, a fresh water lake and a glorious variety of birdlife. Here too are all the members of the ‘Big Five’ (lion, elephant, rhino, leopard and buffalo) as well as a large cast of plains game and one of Africa’s densest populations of predators. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor before driving back to your lodge for relaxation before dinner. Dinner and overnight NGORONGORO SERENA LODGE (Full Board)
DAY 4: NGORONGORO CONSERVATION CENTER / SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National park . The vast Serengeti plains cover an area of over 14,763 square kilometers and during the months of the migration, is the habitat of huge numbers of wildebeest, zebra and Thomson’s gazelle with estimates of up to 1.5 million. The Serengeti “Kopjes”, massive boulder islands of granite standing in a sea of grass, provide shelter to a great variety of plants and animals, from the elusive leopard to the tiny dik dik. DAY 5: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Spend the day on morning and evening game viewing drives (or a full day game drive with picnic lunches). This is home not only to the big five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino & buffalo) but also hosts the world renowned wildebeest migration from the Serengeti plains. This happens every year beginning late June to October/early November. Among other animals to be seen include; wildebeest, zebra, impala, topi, giraffe, Thomson’s gazelle, leopards, lions, hyenas, cheetah, jackal and bat-eared foxes. Black rhino are a little shy and hard to spot but are often seen at a distance. Optional activities available include; hot air balloon safari, visit to local schools and villages, nature/bird walks. Day 6: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK / ARUSHA
After breakfast, drive to Arusha with picnic lunch. Arrive Lake Duluti Serena Hotel in the late afternoon Dinner on own account. Overnight at LAKE DULUTI SERENA HOTEL (Bed & Breakfast)
DAY 7: ARUSHA / ZANZIBAR
This morning after breakfast you will be transferred to Arusha airport for your Coastal Aviation flight to Zanzibar. Picnic lunch On arrival at Zanzibar Airport, met by CATS Africa representative and transferred to Zanzibar Serena hotel in Stone town Rest of afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at ZANZIBAR SERENA HOTEL (Half Board)
DAY 8 & 9: ZANZIBAR
Spend the days at leisure or with optional activities available at an extra cost. Lunch on own arrangements. Breakfast, dinner and overnight at ZANZIBAR SERENA HOTEL (Half Board)
DAY 10: DEPART
Breakfast at the hotel. Transferred to Zanzibar Airport for your outbound flight
